About us

For starters we are just your average American family of 5, I have a beautiful wife Brandy and 3 Daughters, Jayda  12, Mackenzie 9, and Heaverlynn 3 (the last one was a surprise can you tell?). Up until this point our lives has been pretty normal. We have a house, 2 cars, a dog, a few chickens and a Motorhome (more on that later).  But how did we get here?

Back in 2003 I made a decision that would change my life forever (for the best) I joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 18, left a Large suburb of Minneapolis in Burnsville MN and enlisted as a Diesel Mechanic. While serving I met my now wife who was also serving in the Marines, she had a much different upbringing being born and raised in the small town of Benton IL, to give you an idea of size here, my high school homecoming football game had more people in the stands than the population of her home town. After 4 years of service, a newborn child and a deployment under my belt we made the decision to “get out” as we used to say.

After my wife and I left the military we were feeling the pressure of “real life”, It was tough, we didn’t know really what we wanted to do when we grew up (heck we still don’t) we bounced jobs and went to a local community college to try to find out what we wanted to do, but then eventually life happened and we were pregnant with our second daughter Mackenzie. Now a young father of two, I had to put my dreams of owning a business and being a millionaire at thirty in the back burner and focus on being a father.

When I was a child I never knew my father and I really didn’t know what was required in this new role. But I knew I needed to make money to feed these little endless stomachs. After receiving my Associates degree with a focus in general IT I tried finding work in the small town I now live in (Jacksonville NC) but for anyone that has ever been here they know there really isn’t much long term work let alone a career choice.

Jacksonville North Carolina is a military town and home of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, we stayed here from one reason THE LACK OF SNOW!!!

For anyone that has ever lived in or around a military town they will tell you, if you can’t work on base then your options are as follows, work at a bar, an adult club, or sell cars, I chose the latter.

Working in the car business was both a good and terrible thing for us. It was good because I found out that I am actually really good at listening to people and I made decent money in the process, on the down side it’s a very long hour job that often requires you to miss family time, like sporting events, birthdays and recitals.  What people don’t understand is that in the car business you work from 8 am to often 9pm or later, so basically if you have kids and work in the automotive industry, life generally goes like this, wake up, kiss the kids in the morning (often before they wake up) then go to work (that’s a whole different subject all together) then come home to give the kids a kiss goodnight (after they are sleeping) and rinse and repeat the next day, not the greatest option for a family person.

We made some great decisions and like everyone else, we have made some poor decisions in life, my hope is that others can learn from what we have tried in the past.
