What does it mean?
Jak se mas (yock-sey-mosh) is a informal way in the Czech dialect to say “hello how are you” but could even mean “hey whats up?”
Why did you choose Jak-se-mas for your website name?
This greeting has a more personal meaning to me and my extended family, as a child I never knew my father, my grandfather was a major influence on my life and without hesitation, stepped in and helped raise me. During my upbringing grandpa would occasionally say to me in his deep rumbling grandpa tone of voice “jak se mas?!” it wasn’t until years later when I knew what it actually meant. My family heritage is prominently Czechoslovakian (now the Czech republic)
I want to pass along his warmth and kindness to everyone that reads this blog. So Jak se mas, Whats up!?
